What “hosting” a pool actually means
Ask anyone who has run a pool on a spreadsheet and they will describe the same job: chasing people for picks on Saturday night, typing those picks in by hand, checking scores on Sunday, applying the spread, recalculating a leaderboard, emailing it out, and then fielding the message from the one person who is sure you scored their sheet wrong. None of that is the fun part, and all of it lands on one person.
Hosting your pool on dedicated software moves that work off the commissioner entirely. What it costs
Hosting is free for up to 4 players — a real free tier, not a trial, so a small group can run an entire season without paying. Beyond that it is roughly $3 per additional player over the free 4, dropping to $2 per player (30–99) and $1 (100+), billed annually.
